Mechanical Assembler

At Bantam Tools, we build desktop CNC machines with professional reliability and precision to support world changers and skill builders. We’re exploring the frontier of professional desktop prototyping, fabrication, and manufacturing, and we empower our customers to make precision parts on our desktop CNC machines, saving them time and money. Ultimately, we’re building the future we want to see by empowering world changers, engineers, and skill builders with modern and professional-quality tools. All manufacturing is done in-house in our clean, and modern facility located in Peekskill, New York.

We are currently looking for candidates who are committed to learning and developing their professional skills in an assembly environment. Our manufacturing process requires light assembly of small components to produce our desktop CNC machines. The ideal candidate will collaborate with coworkers to complete tasks with high efficiency and speed. Our supervisors are committed to teaching you the job and helping you succeed. We require candidates who are very safety oriented and capable of assembling the precision components that we manufacture.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsibility and a strong work ethic are required.

  • Attention to detail and ability to closely follow detailed instructions is a must.

  • Capability to use light tools such as screwdrivers and wrenches.

  • Assembly of our products from start to finish, including taking precision measurements, performing quality checks and product testing according to our methods. 

  • Follow work instructions closely 

  • Keep your work area clean and orderly

  • Follow company safety rules and regulations

Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience

  • Extreme attention to detail and incredibly organized

  • Openness to learning new skills and advancing to learn every step of the manufacturing process.

  • Experience working with hand tools and soldering a plus, but not required

  • Past employment with hardware/engineering/construction a plus, but not required

This is a full-time position that includes on-site, hands-on technical training. The position is located in Peekskill, NY. Compensation is $16/hr and includes health benefits, accrued paid time off, and paid holidays. The work schedule is Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm.
